Miso Alugbati RECIPE

Check out our Japanese-inspired alugbati recipe. It’s great over hot rice or ramen noodles!

Ingredients

2 tbsp coconut oil
2 stalks onion leeks, chopped
2 stalk celery, chopped
1 head cabbage, sliced
200g alugbati, leaves and stems chopped
1 tbsp Japanese soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
2 tbsp miso paste
As needed black pepper

Procedure

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté leeks and celery until aromatic, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the cabbage and cook until caramelized. Toss in the alugbati and give a quick stir.
  3. Mix in the soy sauce, mirin and miso paste. Deglaze with a small amount of liquid (water or stock) if mixture gets too dry. Season with freshly cracked black pepper.
  4. Enjoy with rice or with ramen noodles like what we did.
